On Saturday, June 23, 2012, ForeWord Reviews announced the winners of 2011 Book of the Year Awards at the annual ALA conference in Anaheim, CA.

Penny-Farthing Press is very honored that Anne Steelyard and the Garden of Emptiness, A Thousand Waters, won the Bronze Medal in the Graphic Novels and Comics category.  This is a very prestigious award and we are excited to be included among the other talented winners and finalists.

Anne Steelyard, A Thousand Waters, is the third and last installment of the graphic novel series written by bestselling author Barbara Hambly, with art work by Ron Randall.  It is available to purchase through Amazon and at PFP’s website, www.pfpress.com

In Anne Steelyard Book III, A Thousand Waters, Anne is still traveling across the desert with the help of Lady Hester’s caravan and her friends.  As Anne continues her search for the elusive City of Miyah, she discovers something utterly sinister and evil that makes her question who is worthy of her trust. To protect her country, Anne does whatever it takes to stop the Germans from establishing their secret base and to secure the key to her freedom. She pulls out all the stops as she fights to save her countrymen and the ancient city she believes is the ticket to her independence. Anne soon learns that freedom always comes at a price, but it is a price that she is more than willing to pay.

Award winners are chosen by librarians and booksellers who are on the front lines, working everyday with patrons and customers.

ForeWord is the only review trade journal devoted exclusively to books from independent houses.
